This firm was established on 1st January 1990 and operates from an office in Solihull.

The professional services provided are the provision of financial and commercial advisory services to the Medical Profession. I act only for medical partnerships and these range in size from single-handed to ten partner practices. I currently act for in the region of 60 doctors from 15 practices, all of which are based in the West Midlands. I regularly have direct contact with the PCTs, helping my clients with their dealings and negotiations.

I act as a sole practitioner in order to maintain the close relationship with clients, which I believe is essential to the provision of best advice. My objectives are to provide a comprehensive service of the highest technical standard, in an efficient and responsive manner.

The association of independent specialist medical accountants (aisma) was formed in 1995 and I became a member four years later. We are a vibrant network of firms of accountants throughout the UK who are all specialists in working for doctors. aisma has developed a rigorous qualifying procedure to ensure that member accountants are amongst the best advisers available on finance, taxation, practice management and accounting issues.

aisma accountants act for partnerships, large group practices and single-handed GPs. They now represent over 9,000 doctors in more than 2,400 medical practices and the number is growing. Help and advice is provided by aisma members on a wide spectrum of specialist topics including GMS, PMS, salaried services, dispensing, co-operatives, outside income and practice based commissioning.

By a pooling of statistical data from existing aisma medical practices and ongoing sharing of expertise and knowledge, association accountants have built up a clear picture of just what makes a profitable, well-run practice and they are keen to share their expertise with all doctors and practice managers.

My associates, in particular Judith Thomas, are individuals with whom I have worked closely since the inception of my business. They are highly experienced professionals who have trained in a similar environment to myself and have achieved a high degree of qualification in their chosen area of specialisation. Working closely together we form a task force offering a wide range of expertise and specialist knowledge.

All work will be undertaken either by myself or by Judith Thomas, under my direct supervision. The clients' prime contact is always with myself.

My pre and post qualification training and experience was gained with KPMG from 1973 to December 1989.

Judith trained and qualified as a Chartered Account with KPMG. She specialises in the preparation of accounts for Doctors, which she has done with this firm for 19 years. She is used to working closely with practice managers in the preparation of the accounts and the resolution of routine queries.
